Digital Media 2203

I've actually really enjoyed teaching this semester. I wasn't sure how I could go considering it's my first teaching experience, and also because I'm only a few years older than the students, but I really loved it the whole way through. The more energy I gave, the more they bounced back with it and so every day was both challenging and entertaining. Would I like to teach again? most definitely, but preferably at a University level. It really was the first time where I felt an everyday reward that I thought I earned, which is a feeling during study and Honours that I never experienced. So... if I ever gave into the world of academia, I think I'd make sure I was always teaching.

My 2nd year Digital Media students handed in their projects yesterday and I got quite a giggle after clicking through some of them. The task was to create a video on web 2.0, transmedia, convergence culture, citizen journalism, or participatory culture. The unit coordinator, Tama Leaver wanted to leave it as open as possible and pushed for them to be creative (excellent idea tama!). Anyway, here is a sample of videos. I haven't seen them all yet but I am so far impressed, and they should definitely be proud of their hard work.
