Natalie Bookchin
I saw this video today, Mass Ornament by Natalie Bookchin. It's currently exhibiting at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery until July 12 2009 (but I saw it on youtube). Bookchin edits together hundreds of clips from youtube, all of people dancing in front of the camera. Her site, talks about references to Busby Berkley and reflections on a 'post-Fordits social structure that reaches further into private space: our homes, our bodies, our self of self and social relations" but to me it concentrates more on banality and boredom in current cultural climates, but maybe that's just because I'm not so focused on film history, and economic history.
There is an interview with her on Rhizome,
